About The Age Team

Roger and Keith on the Mongolian steppe, around AD 1206, the year Temüjin was proclaimed Genghis Khan. The campervan has been parked among the locals, and Keith has made friends with a horse.

Roger and Keith tell each story together — weaving in the popular version, sourced facts, and points of view that got left out of it. Which role either of them takes tends to shift episode to episode: sometimes Roger’s the one pushing back, sometimes it’s Keith who’s carried away by a good story.

Between the two of them, you rarely get one tidy answer. History gets written down by particular people, in particular times, for particular reasons — so the same event can look quite different depending on who told it. Roger and Keith work through that together, and leave you enough to draw your own conclusions.

That’s on purpose. We’re not here to tell you what to think — just to point you toward the sources, the maps, and the questions still worth asking.
